MY FAVOURITE SCENES

Here is a collection of some of my favourite scenes throughout the season and as the show is still currently airing I will have more favourites along the way!

1. Tsubasa's surprise birthday event for Shion

Before this event there was a misunderstanding on both sides as Shion had doubts on whether or not Tsubasa saw him as more than a friend and Tsubasa was insecure in herself as she saw that Shion was too good for her. Because of that this led them to drift and what I thought was the end of their 'fling'. But it wasn't until Shion's birthday where Tsubasa had planned a small surprise event for him and had personally given him a scarf as a gift. This single moment was a major turning point for their relationship. It had shown that Tsubasa saw him as more than a friend as well as solidify Shion's wavering feelings for her. Shion soon confessed to Tsubasa on Valentines Day and the couple became official. If it wasn't for Tsubasa stepping up and making a move like that on Shion's birthday, their romance wouldn't have ever become more than a fling and there wouldn't have been the happy ending that I had desperately hoped for.

2. Takayuki shaving his moustache for Ami

Taka had been interested in Ami since the very beginning so it was no surprise that every little thing that she'd say to him would have some sort of impact. Ami, without much thought, telling Taka "if he were only five years younger" made Taka believe that he had a chance with her and that that one mindless blurb meant the whole world to him. So for her birthday, having him shave his moustache for her was quite a cringeworthy move for me. Taka read too deep into that one sentence and thought that shaving for her would make him seem younger in her eyes and that she'd be more willing to give him a chance, yet ignoring all the other signs that Ami was not interested in him at all. In a sense, his moustache served as a farewell for his interest in her. He slowly starts to grow his moustache again after the event and finally he puts an end to liking Ami.

3. Shohei's Goodbye Performance

For Shohei's last day as a member of the show, he decided to throw a surprise concert for the members and performed an unreleased song dedicated to his time being at the house. Just seeing the members watch him perform one last time at the house and seeing them reminisce about the times they've all had together and tear up was a really heartwarming scene. It showed how deep all of their friendships ran while living together and how friendships are one of the many beautiful things that a human can have. The fact that all the members took time out their schedule and gathered together (which is rare) for Shohei must've meant that he must've been really special to all of them and this goes to show that there ARE people out there who will support and care for you whatever it is that you do, it is just finding the right people and keeping them in your life that makes it all worthwhile. And I think that was what Shohei found while living at Terrace House.
